Following the co-operation between the Ministry of Interior and ODIHR on prevention to hate crime, ODIHR is presenting the revised version of the Law Enforcement Officer Programme (LEOP) renamed Training for Law Enforcement against Hate Crime (TAHCLE) to the law enforcement officials.

The overall objective of the programme is to improve police skills in recognizing, understanding and investigating hate crimes.

The Center for Social Action, a Ukraine based NGO, will organize a training for NGOs interested in preventing and responding to hate crimes.

The purpose of the training is to prepare participants for preventing and responding to hate crimes. Participants will have the opportunity to increase their knowledge of hate crimes and to devise strategies on how to combat effectively this phenomenon. The training will be in Ukrainian.

Law enforcement officer programme on combating hate crime in the OSCE region training-for-trainers seminar

The ODIHR organized a train-the-trainer session on the Law Enforcement Officer Programme (LEOP) on Combating Hate Crime. The seminar was a continuation of the ODIHR's Law Enforcement Officer Programme on Combating Hate Crime and was a follow up on a similar training, organized in Paris in 2006.

The seminar offered in-depth training for law enforcement officers on how to develop and deliver instructions on hate crime issues within national curricula. It concluded with a first annual meeting of the expanded network of trained law enforcement officers, where tools and mechanisms for continued cross-border co-operation was discussed.

The training was delivered by an international team of law enforcement experts from Canada, Croatia, France, Hungary, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
