AbstractThe book contains some guidelines for teachers and educators on how to combat anti-Semitic prejudice, other forms of racism or Islamophobia in schools. The creation of an open and pluralistic society helps to overcome stereotypes and intolerance and prevents discrimination. The training and capacity building also involves the construction of empathy, personal responsibility and proximity to all. In this sense, there is a need to rethink education and teaching about the Holocaust in a paradigm that leads to a reflection on the meaning of life throughout the history and the memory of witnesses, from Anne Frank to Etty Hillesum, to solidarity with all victims of the past and present.
