AbstractPublisher's description: This publication outlines the findings of a pan-European study on media and diversity conducted in 2008. In particular, it highlights 30 initiatives that merit attention because, on the one hand, they were able to combine innovation and originality in addressing diversity issues in an increasing competitive and commercial European media space; on the other hand, they can give lessons on how to create media cultures of diversity across Europe. The publication also includes a set of recommendations to the media, civil society organisations and policy-makers on how to further develop diversity in European media and to respond to the information needs of an increasing diverse population, thus contributing to social cohesion in European societies.
