AbstractThe documentary film is based on eyewitness accounts and tells the story of six children who were deported to concentration camp Theresienstadt with their families during the German occupation of Denmark. Birgit, Bear, Jytte, Paul, Rachel and Salle were among the approx. 500 Danish Jews who did not manage to escape to Sweden and thus avoID Nazi captivity. Their stories are about fear, deprivation, starvation, cruelty and loss, but also about friendship, love and hope. The stories intertwined with the history of the occupation of Denmark, Europe in the war and the Holocaust - the Nazi attempt to exterminate the Jews.
