AbstractThe article looks at the semantics of hate. According to the article, when talking about hate, more direct and honest language should be used, including words that point to themes of power, subordination/domination, and advantage/disadvantage. The article discusses how hate crimes are not just individual acts, but gain motivation and legitimacy from cultural resources.
