Countering intolerance against Christians and other religious communities Collection home page

Intolerance against Christians and other religious communities continues to be a concern across the region of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). Intolerance and discrimination remain a reality for many members of different religious, ethnic or other groups. The impact can be especially detrimental for individuals and communities subject to multiple forms of intolerance discrimination, including on the basis of gender. Such manifestations of intolerance threaten both the security of individuals and societal cohesion, as discrimination and intolerant discourse often escalate into violence and wider scale conflict. OSCE participating States have agreed on a broad range of commitments to address racism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism, discrimination and intolerance, including intolerance against Christians, Muslims, Jews and members of other religions. This collection presents relevant materials with the aim of highlighting and promoting efforts to counter intolerance against Christians and other religious communities.
